At Oxide Hookah, we’re committed to making our website and services accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability. We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA and to continuously improve the user experience for everyone.

Our Commitment

  • Build and maintain pages with semantic HTML, proper headings, labels, and landmarks.
  • Provide sufficient color contrast and visible focus states.
  • Ensure all interactive elements are keyboard-accessible.
  • Use descriptive link text and meaningful alt text for images that convey information.
  • Minimize reliance on motion/animation; respect prefers-reduced-motion.
  • Avoid content that flashes more than three times per second.
  • Offer captions and/or transcripts for multimedia where applicable.
  • Test new features for accessibility before release and fix issues with urgency.

Measures We Take

  • Design & code reviews: Accessibility checks are part of our development workflow.
  • Automated & manual testing: We use automated checks and manual testing with keyboard-only navigation and assistive technologies.
  • Training: Team members receive ongoing education on inclusive design and content.

Conformance Status

Our goal is WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance. As of the date above, our site is partially conformant—meaning some parts may not fully meet the standard yet. We actively prioritize and remediate issues as we identify them.

Compatibility

We aim to support:

  • Browsers: Current and previous major versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
  • Devices/OS: Current versions of iOS and Android; modern macOS and Windows.
  • Assistive tech (tested periodically): VoiceOver (macOS/iOS), NVDA (Windows).

Known Limitations (Work in Progress)

  • Legacy media: Older videos may be missing captions/transcripts. We’re adding these over time.
  • Third-party apps: Some features provided by external vendors (e.g., reviews, coupons, fraud-prevention, analytics) may not be fully keyboard or screen-reader accessible. We report issues to vendors and implement workarounds where possible.
  • User-generated content: Images or content submitted by users may occasionally lack alt text or structure. We moderate and correct where feasible.

Response timeline: We aim to acknowledge reports within 2 business days and provide a meaningful update or resolution within 10 business days (complex issues may take longer, but we’ll keep you informed).

When reporting an issue, please include:

  • Page URL and a brief description of the problem
  • Your browser, device, and any assistive technology used
  • Screenshots or steps to reproduce (if possible)

Alternative Access & Accommodations

If you need help completing a purchase or accessing information, we can provide assistance by email, phone, or live chat during business hours. We can also supply product information in accessible formats upon request.

Third-Party Services

Our site integrates services from third-party providers (for example: reviews, coupon/discount tools, fraud prevention, shipping/tracking, and analytics). While we encourage our partners to follow accessibility best practices, we don’t control their code. We monitor these tools and seek accessible alternatives when needed.

Ongoing Improvements

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We periodically:

  • Re-test high-traffic pages and critical user journeys (home, product pages, cart, checkout).
  • Review contrast, forms, focus order, and error messaging.
  • Update content guidelines for clarity and plain language.
