Kaloud Samsaris Vitria 2 Review
Just recently, we at Oxide Hookah started selling the Kaloud Samsaris Vitria 2 bowl and we've been testing the Samsaris Silicone Hookah bowl heavily. We've put it through all different types of tests and conditions and have come up with a review based on our opinions and thoughts. If you didn't know by now, the Kaloud Samsaris 2 hookah bowl is the newest upgraded hookah bowl by Kaloud. Generally speaking its called the Kaloud Lotus bowl just because it is meant to fit the Kaloud Lotus Heat Management system perfectly. The Kaloud Samsaris hookah bowl was released in 2016 and was a big hit by Kaloud. After a year later, Kaloud decided to make some improvements and release the Samsaris Vitria II due to receiving feedback from it consumers. These improvements focused on making a better and higher quality silicone bowl with a sturdy glass holder for your shisha. So lets dive into our review on the Kaloud Samsaris Vitria II Hookah Bowl and give you our thoughts.
1. Build Of The Samsaris Vitiria II Bowl
As soon as we opened up the brand new Samsaris Silicone Hookah bowl and took it out of its beautiful packaging, we were in awe. At first glance the packaging is of course what you would expect from Kaloud, simple and elegant. Covered over the bowl is a piece of cardboard that contains a serial number for your Samsaris Vitria II for warranty purposes that can be registered on the Kaloud site just in case. Upon taking out the bowl and holding it, the bowl itself doesn't feel flimsy at all, which you would think of when imagining a silicone hookah bowl, but no this thing is sturdy. Right off the bat, you can tell this hookah bowl has been redesigned with major improvements on materials used for its silicone. We noticed that the handle of the hookah bowl is thick and doesn't feel like it could bend easy at all. The logo is also engraved in the Samsaris Vitria II to give it that appealing look and to recognize that this in fact is a genuine Kaloud product.
Next we took a look at the glass part of the bowl which is used to fill your shisha and of course used to have a session. The glass piece of the hookah bowl comes out as a separate piece and is carried by the silicone with a very firm grip. We noticed with the glass that it is extremely thick and seems like it can retain heat very well. The glass has a lip specifically designed to fit the Kaloud lotus as perfectly as possible so that heat doesn't escape and that you are able to enjoy a pleasant session. The glass piece also has groves on the inner part so that heat is evenly distributed to your shisha or molasses. This will help get a full cook out of your sessions.
2. How Well Does The Kaloud Samsaris Hookah Bowl Smoke?
In short, it smokes really well. When packing the bowl, it was a simple process. Simply get a grip on some shisha and spinkle it in evenly fluffed. This process of packing the Samsaris is exactly the same way you would fluff pack any hookah bowl, so no new learning technique here. Samsaris II made improvements on the glass piece so that it was able to hold a fair amount of shisha, roughly 15- 20 grams of molasses. The Samsaris 2 bowl is meant to hold the Kaloud Lotus or Kaloud Lotus Plus since they both have the same diameter...so thats what we used for the heat management system. We lit up two cubes of Cocourth Natural Coals while we packed the bowl and threw them in the lotus V2 to get the bowl warmed up.
After letting the bowl heat up for roughly 3 minutes, we were able to get flavourful smoke clouds! Throughout smoking the session, the flavour and taste of the shisha were consistent. No harsh burn or smell and no scorching of the shisha, We didn't have to add another round of coals until we were an hour in since we were using two full sized cube coals. Smoke time with the Samsaris Vitria II hookah bowl was roughly 2 hours long. We didn't bother adding a third round in even though it could've went the distance but we decided smoking for 2 hours is roughly the average for a hookah smoker. Overall, the smoke session was pleasant and we didn't have any issues with flavour or shisha overheating. We believe that the glass piece of the Vitria Bowl is the reason for the pleasant experience due to the nature of it being extremely thick.
3. Cleaning The Samsaris Vitria Bowl
Now that we were done with the session, we decided to clean the Samsaris Vitria II Silcone hookah bowl to test out how well it handles residue from molasses. We used a simple sponge with soap and warm water to scrub after throwing out the completely baked remains of shisha. The cleaning process results were amazing and i was astonished of how easily the residue cleaned off the glass shisha bowl. To put it in better words, it looked is if had just been taken out of its packaging and was brand new again. The silicone base for the Samsaris Vitria 2 was an easy soak with water and dry with a clean clothe. Thats it, it was a simple cleaning process.
Conclusion On The Kaloud Samsaris Vitria Bowl
After testing the Kaloud Samsaris Vitria II Silicone-Glass Hybrid Hookah Bowl, it is now used as our daily driver for smoking sessions with the Kaloud Lotus Plus. If you already own a Kaloud Lotus, we highly recommend you pair the Samsaris Vitria 2 with it since it is specifically designed to fit and provide a pleasant session combined. Your sessions will noticeably be more pleasant and you won't have to ever worry about scorching or overheating your tobacco / molasses throughout your sheesha sessions. The Vitria 2 is also easy to clean so you won't ever have to worry about scrubbing or soaking your bowl for hours to get that residue off.
